UKVH provides boarding facilities for both dogs and cats. Please call ahead to reserve a boarding space as soon as you know the dates you will require so that we can ensure there will be space available for your pet.
We have both small and large runs as well as small and medium kennels to accommodate pets of all shapes and sizes. Cats are kept separate from the boarding runs to reduce stress from barking dogs.
Dogs are given access to the exercise yard alone three times per day. We do not allow dog from different households to play in the yard together.
All boarding pets must be up to date on vaccines and free of internal and external parasites. If your pet has received vaccines at another clinic, please have them send us the updated records or bring them with you at drop off. If your pet requires vaccines, we recommend having them administered at least one week before your boarding appointment to ensure your pet is fully protected. We require the following vaccines:
Cats – FVRCP and Rabies
Dogs – DHPP, Rabies and Bordetella
If your pet is not on monthly heartworm and flea prevention, we require a fecal flotation to rule out internal parasites. If your pet is found to have fleas, a flea control will be administered at an additional cost.
We encourage you to bring your pet’s food to maintain consistency for his or her diet. If you choose not to bring your own food, kenneled pets will receive a diet for sensitive stomachs to reduce the impact on your pet’s gastrointestinal tract.
You may bring beds, blankets and/or a toy from home to give your pet something familiar during their stay. It is not required. Due to the possibility of chewing or soiling, UKVH will not be held responsible for the loss or destruction of any items left with pets during boarding and cannot guarantee their return.
Pets can be dropped off or picked up during regular business hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 am til 5:00 pm and Saturday 8:00 am til 4:00 pm. There are no pick ups or drop offs on Sundays or holidays. If your pet's stay needs to be extended, please call us.
One advantage to boarding your pet at a veterinary facility is there is a staff of veterinarians and technicians that can handle any problems or issues that may arise during your pet’s stay. While we make every effort to reach you at your contact number before any treatment plan is begun, our first priority is always the health and safety of your pet.
Please call us to schedule a boarding reservation or to make a time to tour our boarding facility.
